My British Airways Executive Club tier point collection year ended on the 8th of September 2024 and now it’s time to start the great tier point hunt once more. British Airways are realigning everyone’s tier point year end to be April 2025. To make this fair and equitable for everyone BA have basically been running two tier point years overlapping each other, so, for me I had one tier point year running September 23 to September 24 and under the covers a second tier point year running April 24 to April 25. Unfortunately I completed two major tier point runs in March which will not count into this new year, and so I will be carrying forward less than 1000 tier points into this new April to April year. What this means is that I need to earn another 2600 tier points between now and April in order to renew my Gold Guest List status and earn the additional 2 Gold Upgrade Vouchers.
This is the first of two very different tier point runs, the second is in January where I’ll be flying backwards and forwards to Bucharest for a week! This one is a little more interesting :). Here is the itinerary:

I’ve booked this in two pieces, and all the flights were booked into business class. The positioning flights that are NCL-EDI-NCL-DUB / MAD-LHR-NCL were booked in the BA post-christmas sale for close to £400 and will give 240 Tier Points. The main DUB-LHR-BOS-LAX-SJC-LAX-BOS-LHR-DUS-MAD run was also booked during the sale but this uses the midweek business excursion fare and the total cost was slightly over £1,000 to give 760 Tier points. A grand total of 1,000 Tier Points for around £1.40 per tier point.

To make things more comfortable, and fun, I have also used one of my Gold Upgrade vouchers to upgrade the two transatlantic flights from Business to First Class.
I’ll be gradually reviewing each segment and they will be linked below:
