With the delay on my Edinburgh to London Heathrow I was very concerned about making this last of four flights for the day but ongoing delays across the board meant that there was time aplenty. In the end I scanned through the transit gate at 19:17. Boards were showing my Dublin flight delayed by 37 minutes and no gate announcement until 20:05, which meant there was time for another quick visit to the Concorde room for refreshments.

Having taken a few minutes to chill out, it was time to head to the gate. All I was thinking was that if I can just make it to Dublin tonight, I’d be a happy traveler. From tomorrow, everything would fall under the same PNR, so any delays or cancellations would actually start working in my favour. This is the last flight of the day, thank goodness!
I have to say, this flight set a personal record for the most pre-boarders I’ve ever seen. There were over thirty in the holding pen and at least ten more to be processed—over 20% of this completely packed plane! Pre-boarder mania!

The crew seemed decent enough, and passengers were on board quickly, except, the usual game of musical bags was in full swing. Every time, without fail, the overhead lockers become a battleground. BA really needs to find a fix for this locker overcrowding madness. It’s like watching an Olympic event where everyone’s competing to fit their oversized luggage into the tiniest possible space.
As we waited, the Cabin Crew Manager had been making the rounds, offering greetings to what I’m guessing are the Gold Guest List passengers or higher. I overheard four greetings, and, funnily enough, there were four single pre-boarders as well. Coincidence? I think not.
By 21:00, boarding was officially completed, and we pushed back almost immediately. One last push to Dublin—let’s do this!
Honestly, not much to report on this last leg. I’d pre-ordered a special meal, which ended up being yet another round of the salmon and avocado. I took one look at it, decided it wasn’t worth the effort, and sent it back untouched. Not exactly a culinary highlight!
After that, I figured there was only one sensible option: sleep. So, I settled in and snoozed my way through the rest of the flight. Not the most thrilling ending to the day, but sometimes a nap is the best choice.
