Opening hours and access requirements
British Airways Galleries lounge at Edinburgh Airport is open from 5 o’clock in the morning until 8:30 at night.
To access the lounge you need to be travelling on a British Airways business or first class ticket, or, be a sapphire or emerald member of any of the Oneworld alliance frequent flyer programmes. It is not possible to pay for entry to this lounge.
Reception
The entrance to the lounge is adorned with three modern chandeliers and features blue mood lighting. The reception desk is to your right as you enter the lounge and this is where you present your boarding pass to gain access. The receptionist and the lounge staff were all very warm and welcoming.

Lounge Appearance
The lounge isn’t huge, but it’s spacious enough, and the décor is simple, with soft lighting and comfortable chairs. There is a mix of seating areas, from individual armchairs to larger group setups. One entire wall feature widows that overlooks the airfield and are great for aviation enthusiasts to watch the airport in action.

Food and Drink
The food and drink offering is similar to that found in almost all BA lounges, however there are a couple of additions. At the time my visit the lounge buffet was laid out for breakfast and in addition to the standard BA offerings there were mini cheese omelette and haggis.

In a similar vein bar features the same premium spirits as you would find in any other BA galleries lounge along with a slightly enhanced whisky selection. Unique to the Scottish BA lounges is the large jar of tablet or fudge that can be found near the bar and is highly addictive!

Conclusion
The Edinburgh British Airways Galleries lounge provide a quiet and pleasant space in which to wait for your flight for an hour or so. If you need to get some work done, there’s complimentary Wi-Fi, and I found it to be pretty reliable. There are also charging points scattered around, though I had to hunt for a spot with one near my seat – so if you need power, grab a seat with an outlet early!
