The Concorde Room (CCR) at Heathrow Terminal 5 is BAs flagship lounge at London Heathrow and is reserved for First Class passengers and British Airways top status holders. A BA gold card will not get you through the door, you’ll need to be Gold Guest List or above to enter this exclusive lounge. The CCR one of those airport lounges that really feels special and is known for providing a premium and luxurious experience.
Ambiance and Design:
The vibe of the Concorde Room is restrained elegance, but in a way that doesn’t feel stuffy. It has a classic British charm with fancy touches like chandeliers and leather chairs, but it’s also cozy enough that you can relax and feel at ease. It feels more like a high-end private club than your typical airport lounge. The soft lighting adds to that calm, intimate atmosphere, which is exactly what you need before a flight.
Seating and Space:
There’s a good mix of seating options depending on how you’re feeling. You can find quiet corners with big comfy armchairs if you just want to zone out, or larger seating areas if you’re with friends or don’t mind being around others.

One of the standout features is the private cabanas, which are basically mini-hotel rooms with a daybed, TV, and your own bathroom. You can book these for 90 minutes at a time, and they’re perfect if you need a quick break, especially during a long layover.

And then there’s the terrace area, which has fantastic views of the runway. It’s a great spot if you like watching planes take off and land. This is a much airier space and has a number of dining tables arranged in front of the Concorde nose cone that stands proud in the corner of the terrace.

Dining and Drinks:
One of the best parts of the Concorde Room is the à la carte dining. There is no buffet here, just sit down and order from a full menu with table service. The food is top-notch, with a mix of British and international dishes, and you can grab anything from a light snack to a full meal.

The exception to at-seat dining is afternoon tea where the table on the terrace is set with an array of excellent sandwiches, scones, and cakes.

The bar is also impressive, with a great selection of wines, champagne, and cocktails. The bartenders really know what they’re doing, so it’s a perfect spot to get a good drink before your flight. The bar serves premium and ultra-premium spirits and a good selection of wine. The champagne changes occasionally and currently they are serving an excellent Pommery Louise. On the corner of the bar is a BA bell from Khartoum that is over 100 years old. There are a number of bar stools at the bar and this tends to be where those that want to socialise with fellow travellers will sit.

Service:
The service is one of the things that really stands out. The staff are super attentive without being overbearing, and they really seem to care about making sure you’re comfortable. Whether you’re sitting down for a meal or just getting a drink at the bar, they’re quick and professional, even when the lounge is busier. I don’t think I have ever seen more than twenty people in the lounge at one time, it is always a haven of peace.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I love my time in the Concorde Room. It’s got a bit of old-school elegance but doesn’t feel overly formal. The food, drinks, and service are all excellent, and there are plenty of little extras that make it stand out, like the private cabanas. If you’re flying First Class with British Airways, it’s definitely a great place to unwind before you board.
